Wasoukan is a Japanese retailer of kimono, accessories, matcha tea and Japanese cake. Established in Japan by Noriyuki Ikeda in 2005, there are now four Japanese outlets in Tottori-City, Yonago-City, Hamada-City and Izumo-City, and most recently in London at 293 Westbourne Grove.
Their mission is to spread “wa no kokoro”, the tradition of Japanese harmony to the world. As well as sell and renting kimono including ’separates’ which have been specially developed for the European market, and serving authentic matcha tea and Japanese cakes in the in-store café, Wasoukan also offer classes on how to dress in kimono, organises day trips for groups wearing kimono and Mr Ikeda presents on his unique philosophy.
