So, it’s that time of year when a quick reflection on the year that has just passed, sets us up for the year ahead.
In terms of our sector expertise, starting with food and drink, 2017 was a record breaking 20th year as Guylian’s PR agency which saw up continue to hit Guylian’s primary audience of ABC1 women aged between 25 and 45 years through media exposure in women’s media, key regionals, nationals and blogs for the key chocolate holidays of Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter and Christmas. Highlights span The Pool, Yours, The Sun, Look, Daily Express, Pause Mag and On Magazine.
On the Organisations and Associations front, Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s Think Asia Think Hong Kong September conference in Westminster was a great success. In terms of figures, the conference attracted over 2,100 participants, we exceeded the coverage target of 100 by 55%, approached over 300 stakeholder contacts and generated 800 new followers on social media and 50 new multipliers.
In terms of lifestyle, we were delighted to commence a second project for luxury kimono boutique, Wasoukan at the end of the year. This has already resulted in a BBC feature naming Wasoukan as a ‘designer taking the kimono into the future’ and product call ins by media as broad ranging as AnOther Magazine and The Sun on Sunday’s Fabulous. 2017 was also the year we started working for organic healthcare supplement brand, Genessence, and we have so far had them appear in The Sun on Sunday, Remie’s Luxury Blog, Outdoor Fitness as well as working with their retailer Revital’s marketing materials eg its blog.
It was another busy year on services, especially financial services, with our work for Police Mutual and Forces Mutual resulting in two shortlisted campaigns in The Financial Services Forum’s ‘marketing effectiveness’ category, over 130 editorial placements, not to mention writing more than 40 advertorials and securing media partnerships with the likes of the Telegraph, Express and OK, in addition to their respective police and forces trade media. Campaigns spanned a photography competition, bloggers’ guide to creating a relaxing home for the police, a nationwide regional community sponsorship programme and a broadcast day to mark the group’s 2016 financial and ‘improving lives’ achievements.
Like the rest of the world, tech played a big part in our year, namely with Giosg. They took us into the world of AI and Live Chat and we took them into the likes of Banking Technology, IT Pro Portal, Estate Agent Today and The Next Web.
Here’s to an equally impressive year working with an amazing range of clients!
